Myles Bruckal obtained his Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration degree from U.B.C. in 1976. He has spent the last 25 years owning and operating a wide range of small and medium size businesses where he has successfully applied his talents in general management, operating systems, financing and accounting. For the last 10 years he has headed Bruckal Properties Inc., a diverse company which provides capital and leadership skills to enhance existing businesses, taking them to the next level or preparing them for sale. Along with the team, he recognized the need to provide a non-institutional type setting for our growing senior population. A model was developed and tested which not only meets this need but provides a system that can work in large urban centers or small communities.
Karen L. Neal, President, is a Registered Nurse having received her diploma in nursing in 1988 and then her Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1993. Karen has also completed many courses in Gerontology, which are specifically designed to address the needs of our aging population. Karen oversees construction designs and operations of all projects.
She was the co-founding member and the vice-president of the Supportive Assisted Living Association from 2000 - 2006. She was also a board of director for BCRCA from 2002 - 2007. Karen was instrumental when developing the standards for the Community Care Assisted Living Act. Karen ensured that smaller operators could safely and effectively operate their homes under this new act. The safety and well being of all seniors and their family is always Karen’s highest priority.

Stephani Bruckal, Activity Director received her M.T.A. (Music Therapy Accreditation) in 1992 after graduating from the 4 year program plus one year internship at Capalino College, North Vancouver, Stephani gained work experience at UBC hospital’s extended care, VGH palliative care and worked for 2 years at Parkholm Lodge in Chilliwack, Stephani is working towards having a variety of music programs in the Comfort Living facilities to promote and ensure the quality of life that Comfort Living offers their residents.
Heather Samp, Bookkeeper/Controller brings to Comfort Living 10 years of strong financial analysis. Her diverse background of managing daily financials has included Manufacturing Companies, Professional Sports Franchises, and Hospitality chains. With all of this tremendous financial background she is an asset to directing the financial operations of each Comfort Living facility.
